Before I was married I bought some food storage containers at a local store, Phar Mor. There were about 7 or 8 in the set and they were Rubbermaid brand and made of plastic. I used them extensively to store food in the refrigerator and my wife used them as well. Over the years the lids cracked and the bowls broke. We had one left as of this week and I started looking at it closely. There are pits in it from heavy use, but the lid was still ok. I’ve been seeing health articles about how bad plastic food containers are for humans because they can leach into our bodies. I got rid of it and don’t buy plastics any more for storing food. Glass is my preferred container either purchased or from food products.
