One day this month I was in the Catalyst Fitness Turf room and started kicking the Heavybag.  It’s not meant for heavy martial arts workouts because the stand supports are too close to the bag.   I noticed there were three 45-lb plates on both floor supports and felt that was too many.  I removed two from each side to see how it would stabilize when i kicked.  I kicked it once I the stand almost flipped over.  The floor support also almost flexed off  the middle support.  After looking closer at the floor support, I saw a bolt completely out of its hole.  The other one was loose.  No wonder people were piling 45-lb plates on the supports!

Needless to say I got the tools from the maintenance room and started to repair it.  A different bolt had to be found and used because the current one was stripped. This means the threads are damaged.  See the picture below.

I got a different bolt which had good threads and installed it in the support base.  It’s much better now and when i kick and punch the heavybag, it’s more stable.
