I work and work out at my gym and part of what I do is put weight plates away which are left on exercise machines. Members are supposed to put the weights back on the storage trees or designated holders on machines. Some do and some don’t. I joke that we have royalty at the gym or VIPs who don’t have to return equipment where it’s supposed to go when they are done with it.
What’s just as bad as not putting weights back is putting them on the wrong peg! Some of the weight plate holders have id stickers for each peg as in “45”, “35” etc. Occasionally a 10lb plate will be the first on a peg than four 45’s will be on the outside. I have to remove the four 45’s to get the the 10 off and then put the 45’s back on. Sometimes, a peg witll have several of the wrong plates stacked and all will have to be removed and relocated to the correct ones.
I’m used to it and I call it job security. Some of the plate trees have worn-off weight stickers and this may be part of the reason. I should check for stickers in our maintenance room so I can get the on the appropriate pegs.
