Last week an email was received from Catalyst Fitness, my gym. I exercise and work there. One of the elliptical cardio machines was leaning to one side. I tested it by gently pushing the handles side to side. It was unstable and not like it was a week ago. With a 7mm hex socket wrench, I removed the plastic cover at the base. There were four bolts holding the machine to it’s base.
My guess was these had loosened over time an all required was tightening. After trying this, not one bolt was loose. I started looking closer at the base while I wobbled it back and forth. There was a crack about 3/4 of the way around the square base. I wasn’t sure how to repair this so I reported this on our maintenance web site so the owner will know. Sometimes, things aren’t what they seem.
