Part of my job at Catalyst Fitness is fitness equipment repair and reporting. We have so many pieces of equipment that it’s difficult to stay up on repairs and maintenance, There are three ways I discover equipment needing repair. 1)I find it by using it during my workout. 2)A member tells me in person. 3)I get an email from our reporting system when it gets reported.
Just this week I was using the Life Fitness Glute Bridge machine and the headrest moved while I was using it. An hour later I had it tightened and it was like new.
One day this year I was talking to a member and I asked how his membership was going and he told me about a Smith machine that was loose on one side. The next day or two I had it snugged up like normal.
Yesterday I got an email about a piece of Cardio equipment which was making a loud bang during loose. Tomorrow I’ll investigate and hopefully repair.
