As the Member Liaison at Catalyst Fitness, one of the tasks I perform is equipment repair. Our main cable machine is the Life Fitness one in the big weight room. A few months ago I found the weight stack half off the machine for the iso pulldown station. One of the rods was completely loose at the top of the station. I didn’t know how to get it back together so the owner fixed it, He told me later how to keep the rods tighten in the station which will keep the weight stacks tight.
The key is to turn the top Allen nut snug but not too tight. We don’t want to strip the threads. So periodically I check the weight stack rods to see if the are loose and also see if the snap rings are still at the top groove.
Our other cable machines don’t have this rod system and require a different approach to maintenance.
