We have two deadlift platforms for our members and they are made of wood.  Members can perform deallifts, power cleans and other weightlifting exercises on them.  The wood absorbs the dropping of the weights better than other surfaces. We insist members use the rubber plates we provide and not the usual metal ones for the bar. Twice last week I found metal plates loaded on the bar of one of the wood platforms.  These metal plates chip the wood and leaves splinters on the platform.  We have signs on both platform stations stating to use bumper (rubber) plates on them,  Some members don’t follow the rules and the rest of us pay for it in wood splinters on the floor and a damaged platform.

The two deadlift platforms on in the main weight room near the LifeFitness room and the other is in the smaller weight room near the red hack squat machine.
