How do you handle this sock dilemma?

One of my socks has a hole in it and I usually throw it out or use it as a rag in my garage.  But how do I handle the existence of the healthy sock without the hole?  From now on I’m keeping both until both have holes in it.  Then they move into the rag phase in the garage.
