Two weeks ago a Catalyst member showed me something on one of our exercise machines. This unit is a combination leg curl/Leg extension machine. You sit in it and you exercise the Hamstrings and the Quadriceps. The problem was the bottom pad which rests on your foot had too much play in it. Several things were tried like tightening and moving the end caps closer to the pad. It still moved too much. I tried tightening the nut which held it on the rod and this didn’t solve it, either.
The pad was taken off the rod and it was examined closely. A lot of white dust was falling out of it on the floor and the rod. It was then that i realized the center part of one end was disintegrating. This allowed the end of the pad to be off center too much play was at hand.
Pictures were taken and sent to the owned. A new pad was ordered and it arrived Thursday. I swapped it out Friday morning and the machine is back to new.
