One of my chest/Pectoral exercises I do is the flat bench press.  You do these on a special bench while lying flat on your back.  A barbell rests on two supports over your chest.  The barbell is lifted off the stands and lowered to your chest and then back up again. When i was at Spiece Fitness I could do more weight than I do now.  Usually at Spiece I would use the Olympic bar and two 45-lb plates and do between 5 and 10 reps.  Now at Catalyst Fitness and can use the Olympic bar and two 35 pound plates.

Today I arrived at the reason and it involves martial arts.  My hands and wrists are sore often from punching opponents and heavybags.  Jiu-Jitsu has a lot of gripping and holding and contributes to the soreness.

Now when I do bench presses, my hands and wrists hurt and I think it limits the weight I lift.  I’m not sure what I’m going to do about this.  Maybe i can use my natural pain killers on my hands and wrists before I start my lifts.
